ILLUMINATE PHOTOWALK

I finally made it along to one of the Illuminate photowalks recently. This months was around Manningtree, Essex, with the theme of Reflection.

We walked along the edge of the river Stour towards Mistley, taking in views of the boats bobbing about on the water, along with some of the local wildlife. Down roads lined with quaint, picturesque cottages, across fields with cows grazing in the distance, and fallen trees to explore, then up to see Old Knobbly in the beautiful old woodland.

It’s been many years since I last explored the area, and it felt nice to revisit and to discover parts that I hadn’t even realised existed.

It was also really nice to just get out with my camera for me again. It’s all too easy when life gets busy to let things slip, and I forget how much I enjoy slowly wandering with my camera and just seeing what catches my eye.

It was great to spend the evening with a lovely group of creatives. Meet online pals in real life and have a catch up with others i’d not seen for a while too.

I’m already looking forward to getting along to some more of these meet ups in the future.
